Q:  What is a letter of confidentiality?

A: When selling a business it oftentimes is critical to maintain confidentiality.  The seller needs assurances from the buyer that they will not disclose certain information to outside parties that could adversely affect the seller’s business. We require buyers to sign this in nearly all transactions knowing that financial information is very sensitive. For obvious reasons, financial information is made available only to qualified and serious buyers and not to the general public.
